Monthly Wrap-up October 2017

Hola guys! How was your month? Mine was pretty good both in terms of reading and in real life. We had many eventful things in October and are looking forward to much more in November. So without any further delay, shall we start?

Let's start at beginning

Quote of the Month

Anybody can look at you. It’s quite rare to find someone who sees the same world you see.

— John Green, Turtles All the Way Down

Reviews Coming Up

I am still behind on my schedule of reviewing all the books in that particular month that I read them. But I think it’s okay though, isn’t it? So, the next coming reviews are:

Adventures in FarlandA Window to Her Dreams by Harshali SinghGhachar Ghochar

Books collected

No matter how less/more books I read, nothing happens to my book buying spree πŸ˜€ I collected so many books this month. I got many reviews copies too and I am officially far behind on my goals πŸ˜›

Check out my Stacking the Shelves posts to know what I collected over this month.

Post I wished got some more love

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

This post got some love, I know, but I wished it had gotten some more? Considering it was the most hyped book released in October and also because it’s officially one of my favourites now?

Songs that I listened to most this month

I haven’t listened to any new songs this month πŸ™ Yeah, I know. But yes, there were definitely some old songs and this was most listened to:

On the Big Screen

Tv Series

Jane the Virgin: I am halfway through season 3 and I am really enjoying it. I am telling you, you need to watch this. It is really hilarious, especially it’s narrator. Though they killed one of my favourite character, but still.

Jane the Virgin dancing

Stranger Things 2: Now thatStarnager Things second season has been aired, how could I resist myself from it? But opposed to many people, I am not binge watching it. I have just seen 2 episodes. I am watching it slowly so that I can savour it πŸ˜€

Movies

I have just seen a single movie this month πŸ™ What’s happening in life? Nevertheless, it was Simran and I didn’t enjoy it. It was super boring. Just the songs were good.

In Real Life / Other Things

** We celebrated Diwali this month and it was pretty good. I made Rangoli and also cooked “Moong Daal Halwa” for the first time πŸ˜€ Here are some pics from our Diwali celebrations πŸ™‚

** I finally got a new job in Bangalore πŸ˜€ But I am not satisfied with the package they are offering, so I am still looking for further options πŸ™ But at least I can still join this if I didn’t get any other job after moving to Bangalore (I am moving in Dec!).

** I went to October fest in Bangalore last week and it was pretty amazing! In fact, it was the first time that I went to any such festival. The food was too good and the music was awesome πŸ˜€

** I got my first review copy from Bloomsbury India πŸ˜€

** I won my first-ever international giveaway on Twitter! So technically it was September end, but I got the book in October, so that counts, right?

** I finally read my most anticipated book of the year – Turtles All the Way Down and it was as good as I had expected.

Things I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

** November is Non-fiction month so I am hoping to read at least one non-fiction from my never-ending pile of unread Netgalley ARCs (I know πŸ˜› ).

** I am thinking to post some discussion posts on the blog apart from regular review posts and memes. It is just they seek more time to write then the regular posts and I find them difficult to manage. But yes, they are quite good in terms of engaging with the bookish community. So, I am hoping to do at least 2 discussion posts each month (let’s see how that ends πŸ˜› ).

** Now the biggest news is that MY SISTER IS GETTING MARRIED! So obviously I am not going to read more in this month πŸ™ I have to go to the engagement and the wedding both so I’ll be away from the blogosphere from 20th Nov to 5th of Dec I guess. But I am very excited πŸ˜€

** Since, I won’t be able to blog during that time, I need to schedule posts (in which I am very bad πŸ™ ) for that time. Hopefully, I could schedule at least 2-3 posts.

** I am just 2 books away from completing my Goodreads Reading Challenge πŸ˜€ So I am looking forward to achieving this challenge before I start preparing for the wedding πŸ˜›

** As you all know by now that I absolutely love John Green, I am thinking to somehow finish An Abundance of Katherines. I abandoned it last month after just reading 50 pages but surely want to finish it somehow because it is John Green πŸ˜€ Let’s see if I am successful this time or not πŸ˜›

Special mention

This week I found another great blogger and you know what? We have so much in common πŸ˜€ I was really excited to meet her. John Green is her favourite too πŸ˜€ Even see named her blog after John Green’s book Looking for Alaska. Now isn’t it great? She is Marie @ Drizzle & Hurricane Books! I am really enjoying talking to her and her posts are super awesome too. Don’t forget to follow her πŸ™‚

Also, another exciting news that is around the blogosphere these days is that our favourite, (I mean for most of the bloggers? ) Cait is finally publishing her book! Isn’t it such an amazing news? I am so happy for her and I definitely want to read it because I love Cait and how hilarious she is πŸ™‚
