Hola guys! How all of you been? It’s been like ages since I last posted here, more than 2 weeks! Did you miss me? At all? (Well I am not expecting Yes as an answer from many people πŸ˜› ) But I missed you guys, really! I missed interacting with you all, I missed reading and commenting on your posts and especially reading.

Well, it was not like I didn’t read anything. It was just that I read less. And I can’t believe that the year is almost at its end!! Seriously, where did the year go? So before you ask, where have I been busy, let’s move to my monthly remind!

November Reads

Books Read
The 365 Days by Nikhil RamtekeSecond Chance by Sandeep JatwaHit Refresh by Satya Nadela

Yes, just 3 books! But even with this low number, I am happy that at least I managed to read 3 books despite the hurricane in my life πŸ˜› The 365 Days by Nikhil Ramteke is a story about experiences of immigrant workers living in the Gulf. Second Chance by Sandeep Jatwa is basically a classic story about the win of good over evil and make you think what would you do if given a second chance. Hit Refresh by Satya Nadella is a book that I am proud of reading. This is the only nonfiction book that I read for #NonFictionNovember. I will post its review soon.

Book of the Month

Hit Refresh by Satya Nadela

Well there was no 5-star read for me this month, but I enjoyed Hit Refresh a lot, so including it in this section.

Quote of the Month

“It showed me that you must always have respect for your competitor, but don’t be in awe.”

— Satya Nadella, Hit Refresh

Reviews Coming Up

Hit Refresh by Satya NadelaGhachar Ghochar

I read Ghachar Ghochar in October and I have not posted its review yet. It is a book that I really liked and I meant to post this review in November, but here I am, promising again to post it this December πŸ˜€ And the other anticipated review (actually the first non-fiction/business review on my blog) is that of Hit Refresh πŸ™‚

Books collected

Well, this is one section which never goes blank for me πŸ˜€ Since I was on holiday for later half of the month, this amount is low this time as compared to other months. I had to ask a few publishers, to not send anything until December πŸ˜€ As always, here is my Stacking the Shelves posts for my book hauls in last month.

November Posts

Most Popular Post

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

Well, it’s funny that how I wanted this post to got some more love in my October wrap-up and see, this month it was the most popular one πŸ˜€

Post I wished got some more love

Top Ten Tuesday | Seven Books I’m Thankful For!

Yes, I wanted it to get some more love on this post but the truth is I can’t blame anyone. I actually posted this on the day when I was leaving and then I was not able to comment on other people’s Top Ten Tuesday posts. The funny thing about the bookish memes is you won’t get that much recognition until you visit others. So I am happy with whatever love it got πŸ™‚

Instagram Fun (Popular posts)

Follow me on Instagram to see more of my images from this month.
Also, you can follow my personal account β€” @simant.verma β€” to see some images, especially my personal and travel pics!

Songs that I listened to most this month

Well, this song was like on repeat for basically whole month πŸ˜€ It is funny and quirky! Bollywood fans – you have to agree, right?

On the Big Screen

Tv Series

Jane the Virgin: I am finally in parallel with this series and waiting for the latest episode πŸ˜€ Though season 4 is less interesting till now as compared to earlier seasons still it is a good one.

Stranger Things 2: Ahh, it was a hell of a season. Just amazing. If you still haven’t watched it, please do. Trust me, it’s terrific!

How to Get Away With Murder – Season 4: Well, this season started slowly but the last episode (episode 8) ended pretty well. I so want the next episode but it will air in January πŸ™ Why they even make us wait between a season?

I didn’t watch any latest release in November though I wanted to see many πŸ™ I just watched a single movie and that too a Hollywood classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s. But I am not sure if I enjoyed it as much as I was meant to? Although I really like the character of Holly πŸ™‚

In Real Life / Other Things

** Well the biggest news last month was the marriage of my younger sister. Technically the wedding was on 3rd December but still I am mentioning in this wrapup because I am posting it late πŸ˜€ I went home for 10 days (that’s why I was missing) and all the things went well πŸ™‚ Finally, my little princess is married sighs

My little sister wedding

I don’t have other pics from the wedding for now. If you are wondering, this is our (Indian) traditional marriage style. Also, I don’t think that I have ever mentioned about my sister on my blog. She is a Captain in Indian Army and her husband is Squadron leader (Sqn Ldr) in Indian Airforce. A match well-made πŸ˜€ (I know, their faces don’t say that both serve in forces πŸ˜› ).

** For half of the month, I was busy in packing my stuff as I have to move to Bangalore this month. This weekend I am finally leaving Pune and going to Bangalore. I know that city is going to be a lot tougher to live in but have to deal with it, I guess πŸ˜€

** I finally got a good job offer in Bangalore, kind of one that I wanted with good package. It is going to be interesting πŸ˜€ I have my joining on this coming Monday. So soon, right? I know πŸ™

** On the reading /blog front, I finally participated in my first State of the ARC meme hosted by Evelina. See my post here (oops, this reminded me I have to post my update for this month too πŸ˜› ).

** I finally completed my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 50 books for this yearΒ πŸ˜€ See my complete challenge here.

** I changed the font of my blog (if you have noticed?) and I am pretty much liking it at the moment. But what do you think?

** I am hoping to regain my blog posting speed and schedule πŸ˜€

Things I’m Looking Forward to Next Month

** I am hoping to settle well in the new city before the new year. All the things need to be unpacked and have to organize the new home. Yes, a lot of work is for me this month πŸ™

** Hoping to kick-start the new job. I am kind of nervous actually. This new company and the work is little different than what I was used to doing so I am not sure how well I would adjust. I am hoping for the best πŸ™‚

** Before the year actually ends, I am really hoping to read 2-3 anticipated books that I meant to read earlier. I know this month too I won’t be able to read much, but still, I am hoping for the best πŸ˜€

** Between all this chaos, I am looking forward to buddy read a book with Evelina from Avalinah’s books during the Christmas holidays (though we don’t have Christmas holidays here in India πŸ™ ). I am pretty excited about it.

** Also, I am hoping to make a consistent plan for the new year in terms of reading and I am actually praying to be consistent with that plan πŸ˜€

** I am thinking of joining Beat the Backlist Reading Challenge by NovelKnight for 2018 as I have too many unread books piled up on my shelf. I think this will be a fun challenge.

** I am participating in a Bookish Santa group for Christmas and I have to select gifts to be sent to someone in that group. I am pretty excited about sending the gifts and yes for receiving as well πŸ˜€

I agree with you on that Jane the Virgin season, it isn't as great as the first ones (you know why……probably, haha), but it's still very good. I love that tv show so much and am always looking forward to the next episode πŸ˜€

Of course we missed you πŸ˜€ I have had this tab open on my phone for probably a week!
Oh, that’s too bad you didn’t read a single 5 star read! Maybe you will soon, we’re having a buddy read during the holidays, aren’t we! πŸ™‚ I think it might be a good one, let’s hope for at least 4 stars.
Your sister and her husband look absolutely amazing!! I love the traditional clothing. It’s SO beautiful! How did you dress for the wedding?

Thank you and yes they make a good couple. I wore Saree which is Indian traditional dress but none of my pics are good so I haven’t posted mine πŸ€£πŸ™ˆ
Yay for joining the Backlist challenge πŸ˜ƒ I hope we end up in same team 🀞
Yes I already started the job this Monday 😊 It is going good till now but I am not able to understand in 5 days what my project is about 🀣 But there is free lunch so it makes it equal I guess πŸ˜‚

      1. Evelina @ AvalinahsBooks

I know what a Saree is, I’ve worn one and I own several xD (but they are silk so it’s hard to put them on the traditional way without using pins :/ slippery!) Oh, yay for free lunch xD it definitely takes longer than 5 days to get into a new job!! πŸ™‚ you’ll be fine! πŸ™‚

        1. Post

Wow you wore Saree? I would definitely like to see how you look 😘 Yeah the Silk ones are heavy, mine was of Georgette and net.
Yeah I hope to be fine soon πŸ˜€
