Do you guys read middle grade or children’s books? Do you enjoy them? I certainly do. So when the author asked me to review his debut book, I couldn’t refuse it because of first thing, look at the cover! And it is fantasy, so who could refuse? Because, children + fantasy = Best combination!

So, this is weird. I have never ever written a review immediately after finishing the book. And while I am writing this, it is 1:30 AM here! Can you believe it? This book just made me crazy and I have like multiple thoughts running wild into me, like spirals (yeah I am using the line from this book) and I want to share all those thoughts into this post, right now. Yes, I can’t wait to write it because I don’t want to miss anything that I am feeling right now. And pardon me before you go any further, this is going to be my longest review ever
First of all, tell me what have you thought when you read the title? Creepy, mysterious, haunting? This is what I felt exactly after finishing this novella. I have to admit something here – I have never felt so terrified reading any book like I felt during reading this, although it’s not a horror book. Can you believe this? This book was so creepy and haunting that I literally had goosebumps just after I finished the FIRST page. But I think this is the thing which makes it unique. The main motive was, I think, to make the readers understand how the love can make you blind and can force you to make the choices which you would have never made otherwise.
Before reading any further, just keep one thing in mind: This book is NOT just what the title says! I know, whenever anyone sees this title, the first thing that comes to mind is that it contains just the erotic stories. So if anyone doesn’t read Erotica, (s)he will certainly not pick this. Even, I thought so in the place but since I like reading Erotica, I didn’t mind. But today, when I am writing this review, I am really happy that I read this book. It has some erotic stories but yet it is a tale of self-being and expressing your desires openly. This book has so much going on beyond the steamy title.
John Green was already one of my favourite authors before reading this book. I had read just The Fault in Our Stars by him yet I liked him. His writing is so raw and real. When I finished this book, I was not sure how to write its review. Whether to be happy or to be sad. I was conflicted literally because of the ending? I am not sure if it was meant to end like that or it was on purpose? But yet, I love the overall book. But here, I should definitely mention that I would have enjoyed it way more if I would have read it like 3-4 years back.
This was my first read from the author Kavita Kane. I had heard great things about her work and how she chooses different female characters from Indian mythology and present them with a new angle. People suggested that I should start with her first book, but rather I picked this one as I already had its copy. And I would say, I loved Kavita Kané and her unusual story about Surpanakha.
Ramayana is the epic tale which I believe every Indian have heard while growing up. All the main characters are household names – Ram, Laxman, Sita, Ravan. But the character of Surpanakha is something that we grew up hating. We have been taught that how Laxman cut her nose and in turn, Ravan abducted Sita and then it started the epic war between Ram and Ravan. But do we know more than this about Surpanakha? Do we know who was Surpanakha other than a girl having a cut nose and sister of Ravan? I surely hadn’t known. This story is a fresh take on Surpanakha’s life and lets you go to the details of why she did what she did.
Why I picked this book? Because I am a sucker for beautiful covers 😀 When I saw this book on NetGalley I instantly requested for it just because of the cover. I had no idea what this book will turn into. I am glad that I picked it up as it proved to be a great read.
This is a story about three nurses during World War 2. The story starts with Scarlet, who volunteers for joining the battlefield hospital, but her main aim was to find her fiancé Thomas who was missing from past few months.
