Do you love it when you discover a great read that you haven’t expected in the first place? As much as I hate NetGalley (because of conspiring my death under the pile of unread ARCs 😛 ), I love it for giving me such gems from time to time. Spin the Golden Light Bulb is a debut novel of Jackie Yeager and what an exceptional middle-grade novel it is! I was involved in the story from the first page itself.
Hello friends! Finally, I am presenting my first ever author interview on the blog. Believe me, it was long overdue. Actually, I took this interview last year right after I finished reading The Crowns of Croswald 😛 Those of you who don’t know about this book, I would like to tell you that it was totally magical and was actually one of my favourite reads of 2017. If you are a fan of Harry Potter, then you NEED to read it.
When I won this book in a giveaway on Instagram, I was like super excited. I didn’t know what was this book about exactly. I just saw this book doing rounds on Instagram. So I was excited to get my hands on it. When it arrived, I instantly decided that it is going to be my next read, and alas! Here we are. I have never been so happy after reading a book that I got in a giveaway. This book was absolutely magical!
Before starting this book, I had heard so many great things about it. I never heard anything bad about this, so obviously my expectations were high about this. And yes, it didn’t disappoint me. In fact, it was way too good for my imagination. There are some stories which touch you deeply, and surely it was one of them. This is a story about 11 years old August Pullman who doesn’t have a normal face. He has a rare medical facial deformity, which he refers to as “mandibulofacial dysostosis”, more commonly known as Treacher Collins syndrome and a cleft palate. After his birth, he went through multiple operations on his face to look like what he was now.
